Negus

"Negus" is a term with two main definitions: 1. In historical context, it was a title given to the supreme ruler in the Ethiopian Empire (also known as Abyssinia). It is sometimes used to refer specifically to the Emperor of Ethiopia. 2. In a different context, "Negus" is also the name of a type of hot beverage made from port, sugar, lemon, and spices. It was traditionally served during the winter, particularly at Christmas time in the UK.
