In the story of the demon-possessed man in the Bible, the evil spirits themselves say their name is Legion [Mark 5:9]. This doesn’t necessarily mean it’s their individual name, but rather a collective one signifying their vast number.

The term "Legion" has several meanings depending on the context: 1. In the context of the Roman army, a legion was a unit of 3,000 to 6,000 men. 2. In a broader sense, it can refer to a large number of people or things. 3. In the New Testament of the Bible, "Legion" is the name given by Jesus to a demon or group of demons he cast out of a man. 4. It can also refer to a national association of former military personnel, like the American Legion.
