Tuesday – (Tyr) or Dies Martis (Latin for “day of Mars”)
"Tuesday" is a day of the week that comes after Monday and before Wednesday. Its name in English comes from the Old English Tiwesdæg, meaning "Tyr's day." Tyr (also spelled Týr) is a god in Norse mythology who is associated with law and heroic glory. The name of the day Tuesday is derived from the Old Norse Týsdagr, which means "Tyr's day" as well. The association of the day with Tyr has been carried over into modern English from ancient Germanic and Norse cultures.
