Knight

A knight is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a monarch or other political leader for service to the monarch, the church or the country, especially in a military capacity. Historically, in Europe, knighthood was conferred upon mounted warriors. In the modern era, it is often a symbolic title of honor for significant achievements. The term "knight" is also used in chess to refer to a specific piece that moves in an L-shape.
